Sans the caffeine
Today I’m going to be live blogging my first day without caffeine. I’ve been drinking tea at work for years and on top of that I often drink coke at lunch.
About a year ago I cut all fizzy drunk, crisps and chocolate out of my diet. I dropped half a stone in no time at all. I’m not even that big.
This week is perfect as I’ll be getting up early everyday as my partner is leaving for work earlier. This means I can start my day with a fruit juice and some breakfast. This will hopefully negate the lethargic feeling that I suffer every morning as I stroll in to work.
So I’ll keep you updated via the blog and Twitter. You should follow me here.
8:32am – No one has offered me tea. Which is a good start. I definitely feel the benefit of having breakfast
8:40am – spoke too soon. The office is getting tea and I hate drinking water. Urgh!
10:06am – everyone else is on their second cup. I feel pants. The water doesn’t feel right on my stomach and I need to pee.
11:37am – this isn’t as harsh as I thought it would. Yes I still hate everybody but I do anyway. I don’t feel less alive. I thought it was going to be a hell of a day. Although I can’t wait for lunch.
02:53pm – had 4 glasses of water and going ok. Had to have a sneaky choc bar though. I think the best indicator of sucess will be how I feel tonight.
04:55pm – i feel shattered. Like fall at your desk tired. I wonder how I’ll feel tonight. One more update tonight and I’ll finish this post off.
At the end of the day I was done for. I couldn’t believe it. Yet the day after and the day after that I felt better. Much better. Almost 2 weeks on and I’m noticing that I wake up easier too. I don’t know if that counts. I drink loads of water and that’s got to be a good thing.
Personally I would recommend it to you all

You big girl. I only rarely drink caffeine on weekends now.
I did the same thing though; dropped the tea for water and life is marvellous. Meanwhile everyone else in the office gorges themselves on sugar and caffeine all day. The only problem is that you start thinking you’re better than them for drinking water. Of course, you evidently are as they’re drinking tea and coffee. The pricks.
